Harvest Fair and Scarecrow Trail


Northam Town Council announces that the postponed 2021 Harvest Fair and Scarecrow Trail will be held on the 17th September 2022.

Schedule of classes.

Entry forms will be available later in the year. 

Prizes will be awarded for the winner in each class and certificates for 2nd and 3rd place. There will also be a best in show award.

 

Flowers

1.        3 roses; single blooms

2.        A bowl of mixed roses

3.        5 stems of mixed flowers

4.        3 dahlias; same or mixed

5.        A table centre arrangement of any type of flowers

 

Vegetables and fruit

6. 4 onions each not exceeding 250gms and tied

7. 9 Shallots not exceeding 30mm in diameter arranged on a plate

8. 3 carrots, Intermediate and stump rooted variety of any kind top trimmed to 75mm

9. 5 potatoes

10. 3 beetroot trimmed

11. 3 courgettes

12. Single cucumber

13. Truss of cherry tomatoes

14. 3 apples eating

15. 3 apples cooking

16. 2 pears

 

Novelty Vegetables

Home Produce

18.      Jar of jam of any fruit

19.      Jar of marmalade any flavour

20.      Jar of chutney any flavour

23.      Cake containing a vegetable

24. 3 cheese scones

25. 4 cupcakes decorated with icing of any sort

26. A savoury quiche, approximately 8” in diameter

27. Victoria sandwich

Children’s Classes

Ages 5-9

28. An arrangement of garden flowers, grasses or ferns arranged for effect in a jam-jar

29. 5 biscuits or cookies

30. A creature made from vegetables or fruit, nuts, foliage and feathers

Ages 10-14

31. An arrangement of garden flowers, grasses or ferns arranged for effect in a jam-jar

32. A poster for next year’s show; maximum A4 size, in any medium (Special award for the winner)

33. Six iced/decorated muffins – any theme

Note – For children’s classes – age must be stated on all exhibits

 


 

 

Photographic Classes

· These classes are open to all ages, both children and adults.

· Exhibits are limited to one entry per person per class.

· Rosettes will be awarded for the winners of each class.

· The exhibitor should take all photographs, (which should be not exceed A4 10” x 8” or 20.32cm x 25.4 cm and be mounted on card) to the Town Hall by Monday 20th September 2021 midday.

· The photographer’s name and contact details should be on the back of the mount.

· The photograph that is judged as the best overall photograph from all the classes will be awarded a prize.
